For the past few months, a constant stream of amateur photographers have been showing up to memorialize the demolition of Tiger Stadium. For those of you who live outside the Detroit area and have been unable to witness the event, here is a video posted on YouTube by "Arkpark."
While not pleasant to watch, it does speak volumes as to what has been going on at the site. This video was shot a few weeks ago. Since that time, the entire right field has been demolished as well as the Detroit Tigers' front office and Tiger Plaza (the old player parking lot at Michigan & Trumbull).
Most of the tear down has been completed and what remains is the portion of the park Ernie Harwell is trying to preserve. Although the demolition itself has been upsetting to many, what has emerged is a charming throwback to 1912 Navin Field.
